Game Description:
Released exclusively in Japan, *Puyo Puyo 4* closes out the classic Madou-era of the series and introduces several gameplay innovations, including super attacks and dynamic field sizes. The “Party” subtitle alludes to the game’s expanded four-player mode and Transfer Pak features, which unlock artwork via connected Pocket Puyo Puyo Sun cartridges. While borrowing mechanics from *Puyo Puyo 2*, it strips away certain modes from *Puyo Puyo Sun*, and adopts a uniquely stylized art direction seen only in this entry and *Minna de Puyo Puyo*. Though cutscenes were removed due to cartridge memory limits, the game retains its strategic flair and frantic competitive appeal.
